Convectional rainfall occurs due to the intense heating of the Earth's surface by the sun. As the land heats up, the warm air above it begins to rise. This rising warm air, which is less dense than the cooler air around it, is a key characteristic of convection.
As the warm air rises, it expands and gradually cools. The cooling of the air causes water vapor present in the air to condense into tiny droplets, forming clouds. Once these droplets combine and grow heavy enough, they fall back to the ground as precipitation, commonly known as rain. This process often leads to quick and heavy downpours, typical of convectional rainfall.
